FRONT ROOM MUSIC ALBUM - ARTIST BIOS
STEPHEN FULTON
Last Time from FRONT ROOM MUSIC ALBUM
Born in Cody, Wyoming, and raised in the Colorado Rockies, Stephen Fulton's first organized
musical experience occurred in sixth grade when he was roped into joining the chorus as first
saprano. Beatlemania hit Steve hard at age thirteen, and after getting a Japanese electric
guitar he tried his hand in several local rock bands. In the Navy, he met Rob D'Spain, his
first guitar playing compadre, and a major influence. Returning to Colorado post-Vietnam,
Stephen began listening to many of the popular country-rock bands of the era, and moved
into what has gained repute as "the soon to be legendary but easily forgotten Country
Music Capitol of North Denver" (which he now owns with his wife Judy).
In 1980, fate brought Steve and Jim together in a musical partnership that still strikes
fear into the hearts of many Coloradans to this very day. In 1983 Stricklan & Fulton recorded
an LP called HONKY TONK FANTASIES while playing at notorious clubs like the Buckhorn Saloon,
Pistol Petes, and the Wild Wild West. Steve "Laredo" Fulton, also performed with
Angi Feld, ODESSA, and QUASI-MODAL, playing everything from Beatles to Hank Williams.
His pure high vocal range and tasteful guitar licks are well suited to many styles,
including his own wonderfully creative songs.
(Publishers note: Though HONKY TONK FANTASIES is out of print, several of the songs may be found
on THE WEST OF JIM STRICKLAN.)
